Morning sickness only lasted ten weeks for me. In retrospect, that doesn't seem so bad, but at the time, it seemed like forever. I think my morning sickness days were pretty unvaried, but I recall one day during my first trimester that was very different.

One of the worst parts of being pregnant is when YOU get sick. Knowing which medicines to take can be confusing! One thing I hate even more is when you are trying to conceive and get sick.

When you are pregnant, there is a lot to worry about. I am THE QUEEN of worry. So, with my first pregnancy, I was a mess. I wish I would have made the effort to have chilled out a little bit during pregnancy. But, I didn't really know how.
You can easily worry yourself into a frenzy.

I just heard about a study that was first published at the end of last year that bothers me. It says that light drinking during pregnancy might be OK. What?? Go here to check it out. There are lots of things about pregnancy that can be confusing.

I have a friend that says that she felt her most healthy and in shape when she was pregnant. She said that the knowledge that she was caring for someone else besides herself motivated her. I was impressed by that. All I could think about when I was pregnant was chocolate and more chocolate.

This time of year can be a little risky for pregnant women. Pregnancy can loosen ligaments and joints and shift your center of balance, which puts you at extra risk for falls. Add icy sidewalks and parking lots to the mix, and walking around outside can be downright nerve-wracking.

This week I was completely knocked out by the flu. I was plastered to my bed for almost two full days while my lovely husband cared for our son all by himself. Looking back I wonder if I could have avoided it altogether had I gotten a flu shot.

Around this time a few years ago, I was in my obstetrician's office for a routine checkup. I was five months along. After glancing at my stats, my doctor noted that my weight had jumped up quite a bit.

One of the major components of your first prenatal check up is the health history interview. It should feel somewhat familiar, since many doctors do this on your first visit, but the prenatal version is a little more detailed.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and he reminded me of the importance of taking a daily multivitamin, even when you are not pregnant. He said even if you are only taking a children's chewable vitamin, it is really beneficial. It got me thinking about how diligent we are when we are pregnant.
