Postponing Maternity Clothes Shopping

by sconway

I am not the biggest fan of shopping. Sometimes I like to go shopping just to look and maybe try something on to see if it fits (although I am usually disappointed by how clothes don't fit the way I would like).

Fifteen Weeks

Fifteen weeks is kind of a mile stone for me. During my first pregnancy morning sickness came to an abrupt end at fifteen weeks. My nausea disappeared and my energy soared. I felt great and my pre-pregnancy clothes still fit with ease.

Five days after we officially moved in, my adrenaline rush finally wore off and I crashed. My energy was completely sapped. For five days I woke up between 5:30 and 6:30 in the morning. I finally took advantage of my free-er schedule and slept in until 10:00AM.

Normally I am really good at getting things clean and organized. The last time we moved I was seven months pregnant and I had the house in order in two days flat. The difficulty with a first trimester move is the lack of energy and nausea that tends to come with it.

8:00PM The last few hours of the trip are always the most difficult. Normally during the evening I need to take a nap, but my energy level seems higher than normal and I don't feel "tired" at all. I just want this trip to be over! My husband calls asking when we should stop for gas.

10:00AM Now that we are traveling east, the cross wind makes for a certain challenge more so for my husband in the truck than for me. Still it's not entirely enjoyable to fight against the wind for what will surely be the next few hours.

7:30AM Our road trip has officially begun! I have been mentally preparing for this long trip for the last few months. Driving this fifteen hour all day excursion is never easy. I've only driven the whole thing myself when we moved down here five years ago.
