First Trimester Cravings and Smells

It almost seems to me that from the moment I conceive, my cravings and smells go into overdrive. Not to mention my acne. At least, that has been my experience in the past. With my first pregnancy, one of my all time favorite foods became something that made me sick. Cheddar cheese. The Craving

Induced by a local magazine article, I spent a good twenty minutes trying to find a local sandwich shop that I had not heard of before. I am not usually proned to cravings during pregnancy (aside from my normal non-pregnant cravings), but recently I was craving a deli style sandwich of sorts. Morning Sickness the Second Time Around

I’m interested to see if my experience of morning sickness will differ with the second pregnancy. According to Marylin Shannon’s book, “Fertility, Cycles, and Nutrition” it seems that morning sickness should be more manageable and less severe with a healthy diet, plenty of protein, and continued regular exercise (exercise helps balance the hormones). Considering that our regular diet is much healthier than it was at the beginning of my first pregnancy, I think and hope that my morning sickness symptoms won’t be nearly as bad as the first time.
