Maternity Clothes Shopping

I had vowed to wait to go maternity clothes shopping until I was visibly showing. I was doing really well and had not bought a single maternity item. Them my dear pregnant sister came to visit. How could sisters who are only eighteen months apart in age and both pregnant not go maternity shopping together? So I gave in at twenty weeks and went maternity clothes shopping at my favorite local maternity clothing boutique!

I had promised myself that I was just going to look and not buy because at this point I am still barely showing and most clothes just make me look like I have been eating too many donuts (ugh!). Even trying clothes on at this stage is kind of a turn off, but with my sister's presence and her clothing wisdom (who could reject sisterly advice about how a certain article of clothing looks on your changing body?), I tried a few clearance items on too.

My sister found several items to try on: dresses, tops, pants, and skirts. I only found skinny jeans, a couple tank tops, and a cardigan (all fall and winter friendly maternity clothes). We both went in to the only dressing room and starting trying on each article of clothing giving each other our opinion of how it looked. There were a couple of items that my sister found that I really liked and since we are very nearly the same size (not our pregnant bellies of course, she is fifteen weeks ahead of me in her pregnancy), I tried on her picks too.

My sister really has a great sense of style and an even better eye for great deals (she found a really adorable white dressy maternity top trimmed with black silk for only four dollars!). With her ability to find amazing clothes on clearance, we both found several items that would serve us well for the remainder of our pregnancies and neither of us spent more than forty dollars!
