Hollywood Couples Update – October 10, 2012

Every week, Hollywood couples come and go – here are a few for this week: In what seemed like a surprising move to most, actors Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman split after 42 years together. The couple met when Devito was on Broadway in 1971 and moved in together two weeks later. But, it took Devito and Perlman a while to get married – 10 years to be exact. They have three grown children. During their marriage, the couple starred together several times. So, what could have gone wrong? Some tabloids, such as RadarOnline, are reporting sources saying Perlman was … Continue reading

Finally Moving On

My family has been fighting to get me in to a counselor for months. I blew them off and said, “I can do it on my own. I don’t need help.” Sound familiar? I didn’t want to talk about my divorce and all the other feelings that went along with it. It was too painful to even think about, let alone actually talk about with someone. I figured if I ignored it long enough it would just go away. For a while I actually thought it was working. Then I’d fall apart for a few days and right around the … Continue reading

Moving Towards Your Home Based Business

Since starting your own business is no small feat, it can seem overwhelming. If you break it down into smaller, more manageable steps that you can take action on day by day, you increase your chances of moving “start my business” from your to-do list to your to-done list. Here are a few suggestions to get you started. First, have a good brainstorming session to get yourself moving in a direction towards figuring out what business you will start. Make some time for yourself to do it, and get a piece of paper (or two, or three) and write down … Continue reading

Moving In

After being awake for over eighteen hours, you’d think I’d sleep long and late into the morning. Not so. Bright and early at 5:30 in the morning I’m awake. I guess I still have a lot of adrenaline left to finish the move. I wait half an hour to wake up anyone else. 6AM seems a lot less harsh than 5:30AM for some reason although it’s still ridiculously early. My sisters don’t seem to mind and I get them to make more seven grain pancakes and scrambled eggs. I have a lot of work to do today and I have … Continue reading

Moving Part II

Here we are in the midst of packing, loading the truck, and cleaning. Today is our last day to get everything done before we begin the long trek back to the Midwest. We’ve made a lot of progress yesterday. Most of the large items are out of the house and over a dozen large totes filled, labelled, and loaded. I spent a good portion of the evening cleaning and getting the things left in the house organized into piles to go in the truck. This small act of organization really gave me piece of mind as it became apparent that … Continue reading

Moving at 10 Weeks

We are currently in the midst of loading the seventeen foot truck we rented this morning to move across country. While we were filling out paper work for the truck, there was a light breeze and a pleasant temperature. Now it’s just hot! Loading a big truck in the heat is never fun for anyone, but it is particularly nausea inducing at near ten weeks of pregnancy. I knew this was going to be a tough move. Thankfully, my parents flew one of my sisters out to help us and she and my husband have been doing all the heaving … Continue reading

Baby Blog Month in Review: August 2008

Isn’t it crazy the way babies grow so quickly? It seems that you just get used to one stage and boom they are already into another. Tonight, were busy getting the household all set for my eldest child’s first day of second grade. My two younger ones are excited and want to start school, too. It will be a busy month. Don’t worry about the missing last week of blogs. I’ve gotten quite a few questions about where I have been. The Baby Blog tends to go on hiatus the last week of the month. That may change in the … Continue reading

Pop Culture Potpourri—Moving On

Did anyone think the strange hook up between comedienne Kathy Griffin and mega-zillionaire Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak would last? Frankly, I seriously doubt either one of them thought they were in it for the long haul. However, I do find the timing of Wozniak’s recent wedding to be quite surprising. According to Griffin, the odd couple split some time ago, but it was just a few weeks ago that she found out that he got married to someone else. Whoa! How’s that for moving on? The comic says, “I got an email last week from him, and he is going … Continue reading
