If you're even thinking about trying to get pregnant, it's a good idea to prepare yourself physically. That includes getting in shape and eating right. Many doctors recommend going one step further and taking a prenatal vitamin while trying to conceive. There are so many different multivitamins out there, it's hard to know which one to pick. Personally, I tried several different formulas while I was pregnant. Not all vitamins are created equal.

Recently, Olympian Labs, Inc was kind enough to send me a sample of their unique premium multivitamins created just for women who are trying to get pregnant or are currently expecting. I think it's great that companies are beginning to cater to those trying to conceive because it raises awareness about pre-pregnancy health and nutrition. Healthier mamas give birth to healthier babies.

"Aspiring Mother" is a special dietary supplement that has 5mg of Folic Acid and Guaifenesin. Folic Acid, as you may already know, is essential to brain development in babies. It is most important during the first few weeks, before many women realize they are pregnant. Low levels of Folic Acid can lead to severe birth defects. That is why Folic Acid is such an important part of a pre-pregnancy health regiment. The other key ingredient, Guaifenesin, is an expectorant commonly sold over the counter to help break up phlegm. It works by increasing and thinning secretions, so even though it is often used to treat a cough, it also works on cervical mucous. Having plenty of watery cervical mucous can help sperm reach their destination and improves a woman's odds of conception.

"Expecting Mother" is a prenatal vitamin that also includes 5mg of Folic Acid. It is specially formulated to help support the demands of a growing baby on a pregnant woman's body. Both multivitamins contain all of the essential vitamins and minerals needed for pregnancy, including Vitamin C, D3, E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B-6, B12, Pantothenic Acid, Iron, Iodine, Magnesium, Zinc, Copper and Lutein.
