Seventeen Weeks

At seventeen weeks I find myself feeling extremely well. My Nausea has subsided and my energy has returned to near its full force. Most of my major food aversions have passed and I find myself wanting chocolate again, which is something I need to keep in check! Thanks to my lack of nausea and increased energy, I have been exercising five to six times per week and reaping the benefits of toned muscles!

My stomach is bulging a bit more than normal and some of my tops are a little tight in the stomach, but maternity tops are still much too big. I had to break out my belly band this week to accommodate my slightly expanded waist line. In all honesty, after trying on a few of my maternity pieces, I am not looking forward to wearing maternity clothes too soon yet. I would rather just enjoy this transitional period even though I do not look obviously pregnant (I just look like I have an excess of belly fat).

Also this week, I have found the need to sleep with a pillow between my knees given the continued loosening of my hip and pelvic ligaments, which is much sooner than last time. At least there is relief to be had at only seventeen weeks.

At week seventeen, my pregnancy seems to be going well. I have not experienced anything out of the ordinary at this point in my pregnancy, which is great! I am continuing to eat one hundred grams of protein and three quarts of water per day in addition to my vitamin supplements. I have added raspberry leaf tea to my diet this week I find it to be very pleasant tasting and quite calming.

It is nice to be at the point where I can really just enjoy being pregnant and this week has really brought about moments of contentment and joy for the state of pregnancy!
