The day is finally here for my sister's baby shower. After months of planning, I finally get to see if all my efforts turn out the way I expect from the cupcakes to the games to the prizes. Will the baby shower be a success or a failure?
I arrived at my sister's mother-in-law's house at ten o'clock with my two of my younger sisters. I talked briefly to the woman of the house and then set to work with the help of my sisters bringing in all the "stuff" for the baby shower. Once that was done, my sisters began prepping fruit and I started making frosting for the cupcakes. I was not sure at the start how much frosting I would need so I just made one very large recipe, laid out the twenty four cupcakes that would adorn my cupcake stand and filling my pastry bag. I piped the frosting on easily enough and the set out to decorate each one first with pink and yellow sugar crystals and finally with fresh flowers. The end result was gorgeous! After making another batch of frosting and laying out the remaining cupcakes, forty eight more, I piped on the frosting with ease, added the decoration, and arranged them around the cupcake stand. My largest task was done.
Next, I laid out all the supplies for the games and tied pink ribbon around all the potted flowers and placed them around the house as decor. My sister's had finished prepping all the fruit and were taking a break to eat some egg pizza that the woman of the house had generously made just in case we did not eat breakfast. Then, we arranged the vegetables on the vegetable tray, the fruit in a plastic lined basket, and the cubed cheese on the crystal cheese platter with dome. Everything looked amazing!
