The Let’s Talk Pregnancy Blog in the New Year

In closing my very first month as a Pregnancy Blogger, I am closing out a year as well. I would like to say thank you to those of you that have read my entries so far. Here is a look-back on December 2006 and a look forward to the things I will touch on in the New Year: I talked about a lot of things that relate to the first … Continue reading

Let’s Talk About Having a Blessingway

Most first-time moms have a typical Baby Shower before the baby comes. There, the mother is “showered” with things that will help her mother her new baby – necessities like diapers and clothes and baby items. But often over-looked is the importance of acknowledging the great change that a woman goes through when she becomes a mother. Planning a Baby Shower

I got this at my second baby shower, even though it was NOT on my register. That one went back to the store, and I’ll tell you why. In the immediacy of your baby’s first few months, diapers will trump many of the fancy gadgets that are on the market now. Yes, potties are certainly useful when the time comes, but the average for potty learning is about three … Continue reading

Let’s Talk About Casting Your Belly

The belly cast is a beautiful and easy way to commemorate your pregnancy. I made a plaster cast of each of my pregnant bellies. The process takes minutes but the result can last a lifetime. There are two main ways to cast your belly, and both are relatively simple. You can either purchase a tub of plaster of paris and some medical gauze, or you can find gauze that already has plaster in it, like this. The latter saves you a step, but both can usually be found at craft stores. First, find a comfortable spot to sit, preferably outside. … Continue reading
